Zaporozhye lives both in the past and in the future. On the one hand, it is a modern industrial city with almost a million inhabitants, on the other - the cradle of the Zaporozhye Cossacks, which keeps the secrets of Cossack history on its streets. The center of these historical events is the island of Khortytsia, where the largest and richest Museum of the Cossacks in the whole country is located - more than 32 thousand exhibits! The Museum of Zaporozhye Cossacks also has its own riddles. Not far from its walls, on the island, there is a huge mound - historians still can not determine its exact origin. It is assumed that this is a Scythian burial! Another mystery is a stone pillar that says that Prince Svyatoslav was probably killed here. And next to it is another mystery – a black stone that is said to have magical powers.
