In Vladikavkaz, they say that a wish made right under the sculpture of flying St. George will certainly come true, and within a year. The sculpture "George the victorious jumps out of the rock" is a real man-made miracle. At a height of 22 meters, the huge monument is attached to the rock only by the outer part of the Saint's cloak, which makes it seem that the rider is just floating in the air. The sculpture is very dynamic: the wind develops the hero's cloak and the horse's mane. Every year this monument attracts the attention of many tourists, and photos with it are very original. George the victorious is the patron Saint of North Ossetia. There are many churches and chapels dedicated to this Saint, and Ossetians do not start any work without praying to Saint George.
